I got a new hot pot under the tree. I threw the other one away...

[You may respond to the phone call or you may see Himeno out on the front steps of 945 Beulah Street, playing with a kendama. She is of course, failing miserably. She's starting to get cross with it, which takes away from how pale and tired she looks. If you stop her long enough, you might take notice that she just doesn't look well at all.

...She's still just a little bit trauma'd by her original Christmas gift.]

[a tiny nod, followed by a "what do you think?" glance down at Pikachu. the little mouse looks back up at him and gives its own affirmative nod, still rocking its legs enthusiastically.]

...Yep. I'm sure.

[tentatively, he hands the Pokemon over.]

Hold him the same way you'd hold a - a cat, I guess.

[She's very careful with the way she holds him, making sure she doesn't hold him too tightly.]

Does he have a name? Or do you just call him Pikachu?

Just Pikachu. [the aforementioned Pokemon begins cuddling up in Himeno's arms, squeaking lazily.] Was he in the video games you played?

[She smiles down at Pikachu, then looks back up at Red.]

I never played them. I couldn't afford them, but plenty of kids at my school played. Pikachu was everyone's favorite.

Yeah, he's definitely one of the more popular Pokemon. Everyone wants one as a pet.

[he can't imagine why, though. they're not as cuddly as some people would like to think. as his gets comfy in Himeno's arms, he glimpses a mischievous glint in its eyes followed by gentle static crackling at its cheeks.]

"Pika..."

[one second and a CHU! later, Himeno's gonna feel a tiny jolt. or, well, a big one; depends on how well she handles electric currents. Pikachu's cheeks flair up and it gives her a powerful - but mostly harmless! - bolt of lightning for her troubles.]

[Himeno lets out a yelp and jerks in her spot, nearly dropping Pikachu in the process. It takes her a moment to recover, and she twitches a bit as she does so.

She frowns down at Pikachu then looks back up at Red, looking sorely confused.]

What was that for!?

[he'd facepalm right now if this wasn't so...terribly...common. Pikachu goes right back to enjoying itself in Himeno's arms as if nothing's happened.]

...I think he likes you. He does that to everyone he likes.

I'm pretty sure that was a fraction of a volt. For anyone he doesn't like...I'd say he'd go all out and share his usual ten thousand.

[Himeno shivers partially from the though of ten thousand volts, partially as a reaction from her own little shock.]
